About
Javi
‘Since completing my studies at the hospitality school and the University of Granada, I have been a chef. In my hometown, I took my first steps into the kitchen, leading me to the kitchens of renowned local restaurants such as Hotel Santa Paula and Hotel Los Patos. With dedication and passion for my craft, I successfully rose to the position of Head Chef, which I maintained for several years.
My adventurous spirit pushed me to travel overseas to gain new experiences and deepen my knowledge of gastronomy. During this journey, I honed my skills in renowned international restaurants, such as the 2 Michelin star Seagrill in Brussels (BE) and the Flying Duck in Melbourne (AU). I learned to speak French and English as a bonus!
Culinary diversification
For the past five years, my drive to educate emerging chefs led me to work as a Culinary Lecturer at the prestigious international school Le Cordon Bleu in Melbourne (AU). While in Melbourne, I was elected President of EatSpanish, a non-profit organisation sponsored by the Spanish Embassy in Australia.
EatSpanish promotes Mediterranean cuisine - something I am very passionate about! So much so that I co-founded Tapas&Co, a company dedicated to the preparation of Spanish tapas with Australian products, distributing to Melbourne and the surrounding state of Victoria.
While serving as EatSpanish President, lecturing, and co-founding a business, I delivered numerous private events ranging in size and style and cooking classes.
My return to Spain
After many years of experience and fond memories abroad, I have returned to my home country of Spain. I reside in Barcelona, one of Spain’s culinary centres and the perfect base for my business, Private Chef Barcelona.’
‘My motivation has always been the curiosity and desire to know everything that nature and cultural traditions bring to culinary art.
The mosaic of knowledge I’ve collected over the years is something I wish to share, ideally, around a table full of delicious food! It’s where the magic happens, these moments of genuine happiness.
During my journey across the world, I have met great masters, discovered surprising techniques and tasted new products. My wish is to share the best of these experiences with others.’
